    Aluron CMC Warta ZAWIERCIE

    - This is the first time Aluron CMC Warta ZAWIERCIE meets another Polish team in CEV competitions while Grupa Azoty ZAKSA KĘDZIERZYN-KOŹLE has very vivid memories from last season's CEV Champions League Semi Finals clash against JASTRZĘBSKI Węgiel.

    - The teams have already met twice in Polish PlusLiga regular season and both games were were very even but ultimately won 3-1 by the home side. However, unlike tomorrow's match, the first one was played not in Dąbrowa Górnicza but in Zawiercie hall which is not suitable for European Cups.- Not only direct games were really close. Both teams are neighbors in PlusLiga standings. After 23 rounds Aluron CMC Warta is third while Grupa Azoty ZAKSA is fourth with 4 points less.

    - Play Offs clashes are separated by only 8 days, and 10 days after the second of them the clubs will meet one more time - in the semi-final of the Polish Cup. It will be the fifth time both team are fighting against each other at this stage of one of two biggest domestic competions.

    - There are four former Grupa Azoty ZAKSA's players on the home team and three of them (Michał Kozłowski, Krzysztof Rejno and Tomasz Kalembka, the fourth one is Dawid Konarski) have won last CEV Champions League edition. However, Kalembka is not eligible to play as he already competed this season in this competition for the opposite side. Also assistant coach Oskar Kaczmarczyk had a succesful span in Kędzierzyn-Koźle, winning two Polish Championships among others.

    - One member of Grupa Azoty ZAKSA is well-known for home fans. David Smith played in Zawiercie in 2017-18 season, the very first one in the Polish highest division for the club.

    "It's always nice to meet friends from the former team, on and off the court. I am happy that we meet in these circumstances that is fight for CEV Champions League Quarter Finals but a bit sad that one Polish team will be eliminated from the competition."

    "Of course we know Grupa Azoty ZAKSA players more because they play the same championship as us. Most of them are in the national team of Poland so both teams' players also know each other. But it doesn't mean anything because sometimes we play very good against players that we don't know so well. There are great players in ZAKSA so we need to be more focused than before for sure to have a good game and to advance in the competition."
